In January, Pitztal Valley will once again host its annual Eis Total Ice Climbing Fest. Some 200 ice climbing enthusiasts will learn modern ice climbing techniques and demo the latest gear in a weekend.
The annual Eis Total Ice Climbing Fest is in its 22nd year in January 2023. While sharing the beloved wilderness experience of scenic Pitztal Valley’s frozen waterfalls during the day, Eis Total brings to the small village of St. Leonhard demos of the latest gear, certified expert coaches and guides, and the legendary camaraderie of the climbing tribe. Participants can learn modern ice climbing techniques, rope management skills, igloo building and dry tooling. There will be no indoor activities this year; organizers will create protocols and processes that ensure the health and safety for everyone.
