International Golden Roof Challenge

Innsbruck, 02.06.2018

The Golden Roof Challenge enjoys cult status in athletics circles. Thus, numerous top athletes will come to Innsbruck’s iconic Golden Roof in May for this celebration of the 14th year of the event.

The organisers of the International Golden Roof Challenge have been bringing this highly acclaimed athletics event to the historic Old Town district of Innsbruck for 14 years. This year, numerous top athletes will come to Innsbruck to compete for their chance at glory in the pole vault and long jump, towered by the iconic landmark of Tirol’s capital and cheered on by thousands of spectators.

The unique Golden Roof Challenge is part of the Golden Fly Series, an event that is also held in Liechtenstein, Rio de Janeiro and Tiflis in 2018. All the competitions will be carried out on the largest mobile athletics facility in the world, the ‘FlySwat’. With a total length of 72.30 meters, the FlySwat is a unique multi-purpose facility for pole vault, long jump and sprint events.
