Wilten Boys’ Choir

Innsbruck, -

Receiving praise from critics and audiences worldwide, the Wilten Boys’ Choir offers a full season of religious concert performances at various churches each year.

The St. Matthew Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach is widely regarded as one of the greatest masterpieces of Baroque sacred music. The Wilten Boys’ Choir is excited to be performing live and in-person this Lent, on April 02, 2022, at 5:00pm at the Basilica Wilten in Innsbruck.

Monteverdi’s Vespers for the Blessed Virgin will be performed as a collaboration between the Wilten Boys’ Choir, Chamber Choir and KonsBarock on May 14,2022, 7:00pm at the Basilica Wilten in Innsbruck and on May 15, 2022, 6:00pm at the Basilica Stams.

Moreover, this year again, Innsbruck’s Court Church, also called “Schwarzmanderkirche” (literally “Black Men Church”) is pleased to announce its annual season of the Court Church Concert Series featuring the Wilten Boys’ Choir. The Gothic church is one of Europe’s finest royal court churches. The Wilten Boys’ Choir is one of the most venerable and oldest boys’ choirs in Europe, deeply rooted in tradition. Re-established after World War II, the tradition of the Abbey of Wilten Boys’ Choir dates back to the 13th century. Artistic direction of the Wilten Boys’ Choir has been in the hands of Johannes Stecher since 1991. Concerts commence at 6:30pm.
