Different times, new ideas: This year’s International Tirolean Koasa Race will be held as an “App Run” due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The lofty mountain massif of Wilder Kaiser, lovingly dubbed Koasa, gave the race its name and is towering competitors all along their way, as well during this year’s modified event. The course of the Koasa Race App Run will take passionate cross country skiers through the environs of St. Johann in Tirol on wonderful and immaculately groomed trails.
Those who want to participate, can simply downlad the Strava App and complete the Koasa Race route anytime between January 16 and February 28, 2021. The start and finish area is located at the Koasa Stadium and the App will count the time automatically. The 15K cross country route can either be skied once or twice and four different segments will be offered: “Wadlbeißer” (600-meter Mountain Sprint); “Flamme Rouge” (1,000-meter Finish Sprint); “Her Majesty” (3,600-meter long Loop) and “Adrenaline” (1,500-meter Downhill). The Koasa Race App Run is part of the Euroloppet series. Each year, more than 2,000 professional and recreational cross country skiers coming from all around the globe compete for their chance at glory at the International Tirolean Koasa Race in February.
