Now in its fifth year, Musica et Artificium calls to mind the Tirolean rural life of yesteryear in St. Anton am Arlberg: The two-day celebration keeps alive historical craft and music styles and locally produced specialty foods.
In today’s fast-paced world, many find themselves longing for the older skills and more reflective pastimes of days gone by. Staged over the weekend of June 24 to 25, 2017 in the lively, pedestrianized main street of St. Anton, this outstanding festival brings back some long-lost traditions. There will be a crafts market where skilled artisans lovingly labour over wood and demonstrate basket weaving and paper making crafts. Holidaymakers can stroll around the village where stalls are being set up, watching and selling products that are manufactured using traditional hand-crafted techniques, such as hand-carved wooden spoons.
Inspired by the years gone by, Alpine musicians and bands will be out in force each day after noon and the streets will be full of people in traditional Tirolean costume of dirndl and lederhosen. Moreover, there will be tastes of yesteryear food stalls, providing mouthwatering must-eat dishes from the area, including artisan cheese, ham and bacon, “Kiachln” and “Kasmuas”. Don't miss out on this truly unique and special event. In the event of incelemtn weather, the market will take place at the ARLBERG-well.com events center. Opening hours are 11:00am to 6:00pm.
