St. Anton is gearing up for the 2019-2020 winter season with a great party weekend filled with a thrilling race and an outdoor concert by two top acts, Sarah Connor and German singer-songwriter Nico Santos.
St. Anton is captivatingly beautiful and fun at any time of the year but when the ski season opening party is on, there’s nowhere more magic. The place will be a-buzz with people celebrating the arrival of winter in true St. Anton style, with a live act by German superstar Sarah Connor and German singer-songwriter Nico Santos on November 30, 2019. The St. Anton Ski Open is one of the highlights of our winter and brings visitors from all over the world – not just for winter sports action but also to enjoy the buzzing atmosphere that spreads from the mountain slopes to the lively village center. Taking place from November 29 through December 01, 2019, it’s a three day extravaganza of St. Anton’s unique culture and community with great skiing, street parties and fun. There will be free demos of the latest ski and snowboard gear and equipment at the base of Galzig Gondola each day from 09:00am to 4:00pm.
The new and thrilling event that debuted at last year’s opening event, a nocturnal downhill race named “Catch Me If You Can – The Night of Long Turns”, will be held on November 28, 2019. Equipped with headlamps, 222 daring skiers will race down the notorious Kandahar Run in teams of two with a demanding giant slalom to tackle. The race kicks-off at 5:30pm under a starry sky. Lifts at the St. Anton Ski Resort will officially resume operation on Friday, November 29, 2019.
