This July, the inaugural “terra raetica trails” Trail Running Festival will be held in Tirol Oberland Region, Kaunertal Valley and in Nauders: 5 races in 5 days at 5 locations – complete with border crossings into Switzerland and Italy.
This brand-new trail running race series begins on July 04, 2023 with the race along Thomas-Penz-Höhenweg High Elevation Trail in Kaunertal Valley. Racing continues the following days along Anton-Renk Trail in Ried (Tirol Oberland Region), Samnaun Trail on the Swiss side of the border, Nauders High Elevation Trail and Joggl Trail on the shores of Reschensee Lake in Italy’s South Tyrol. The distances for the races are between 16 and 22 kilometers with manageable elevation gains between 900 and 1,450 vertical meters. All trails are newly created and waymarked. The overall winners of the five events will be awarded on July 08, 2023. Races begin at 09:30am each. Runners are welcome to take part in all five races or selected ones.
