The western part of the Brandenberg Alps is known as Rofangebirge Massif. This challenging 56-kilometer long trail offers uninterrupted panoramic views, leading from Lake Achensee to Brandenberger Ache mountain brook where you enjoy a well-deserved rest stop at traditional Kaiserhaus.
- Leisurely parts, strenuous uphill climbs and speedy downhill sections await you on this very difficult route with a total altitude gain of 1500 meters.
- Except a short passage at the height of Kögljoch Ridge all paths are in a very good condition.
- This stage takes you along Gumpen and dense forests. After a long and demanding downhill ride from Gufferthütte you reach lovely Brandenberg Valley which has been renowned for its extensive wooded areas and hunting grounds since the Middle Ages.
- Splendid Kaiserhütte - at the entrance to Kaiserklamm Ravine - is a 500-year old forester house where also Emperor Franz Joseph I. stopped over for watching the driftwood.
