Meadow Hike
Seealm Hög

A day out at the Seealm Hög is a great experience for all ages. After travelling up onto the mountain via cable car, visitors are invited to explore the large adventure playground and the Six Senses Trail on the banks of the artificial lake. The views here are fantastic. There is just time for a quick visit to the "Familien-Lichter-Kapelle" chapel with its pretty windows before returning to the starting point for a bite to eat. "The restaurant is almost too good and stylish for a mountain hut," says Kathrin Siller, editor at the Tiroler Tageszeitung regional newspaper. A large glass facade offers fabulous panoramic views of the mountains as you tuck into some of the region's finest cuisine. In summer there is also the option of eating outside on the terrace. The restaurant specialises in fish, vegetarian and vegan food. "One of the things I really like about this place is that children are genuinely welcome," adds Siller.

Trail description

This short walk starts at the middle station of the Alpkopfbahn cable car. It leads past the Seealm Hög, our final destination, and along a section of the Six Senses Trail on the right-hand bank of the artificial lake. At the southern end of the lake there is a chance to visit the Familien-Lichter-Kapelle chapel. Then you can either return along the other shore of the lake or continue a little further into the forest. Just a few hundred metres after entering the forest turn left at the second fork in the trail, then sharp left around 100 metres later. This will bring you back onto the Six Senses Trail and through the forest back to the starting point.
