Mountain meadows full of thyme and gentian, crystal-clear mountain lakes, a waterfall and charming wooden huts – this hike showcases the very best of the Zillertal Alps Nature Park. However, hikers keen to admire the fine views from the top of the Ramsjoch mountain at more than 2,500 metres above sea level need good fitness. The reward for all that hard effort includes a stop at the Stoankasern mountain dairy near Juns.

Trail description
From the top station of the Eggalmbahn cable car in Tux-Lanersbach there is a trail leading in a north-easterly direction that soon meets a wider path. Via Gemais it heads uphill through forested terrain, past the Pfisterwald pond to the Nasse-Tux-Alm hut at over 1,800 metres. Follow the trail in a south-westerly direction past the Torseen lakes at around 2,200metres. It is here that the trail heads uphill once again to the Ramsjoch ridge at over 2,500 metres. Follow the path towards Zilljöchl and take the first turning on the right before you reach the Grüblspitze mountain. Head down through varied terrain via Junsberg to the Stoankasern mountain dairy at 1,984 metres. From here the descent back down into the valley begins. Make your way through switchback corners and forested terrain to Juns. From the "Junser Gasthäusl" bus stop take the 4104 bus back to the bottom of the Eggalmbahn cable car (stop called "Lanersbach Eggalmbahnen/Tux-Center").
Alternatively, it is possible to start the hike at the top of the Eggalmbahn cable car. Head over the Grüblspitze to the Zilljöchl and from there own to the Stoankasern mountain dairy.
