The Hacha Hike starts in the pretty market town of Hopfgarten and leads up onto the sunny plateau home to Itter. In the winter months hikers can look forward to warming sunshine and a stop at the Schusterhof inn before returning towards Hacha and Hopfgarten. Highlights along the way include views of Itter Castle, first mentioned in documents dating back to 1241. Today it is privately owned and not open to the public.
