Description

The start and end point of the mountain bike route to Gampe Alm is the Freizeit Arena in central Sölden. Facing the Freizeit Arena, start to the right and follow the Ötztal cycle path 11 to the valley station of the Gaislachkogelbahn. Upon reaching the Gaislachkogelbahn, turn right to get onto federal road B186, follow it until the turnoff to Gletscherstraße from the federal road. From here, head right up the steep Gletscherstraße, after two hairpin bends and some elevation, you will reach the intersection of Gletscherstraße and Hochsöldenstraße. Turn right here and follow Hochsöldenstraße towards Hochsölden. After about six kilometers on Hochsöldenstraße, a forestry road branches left and leads on a gravel path directly to Gampe Alm and Gampe Thaya. The effort of the ascent is richly rewarded with delicious food on the sun terrace of one of the most beautiful alpine pastures in Sölden. The quaint, flower-adorned wooden buildings lie on a small plateau amid green alpine meadows. The snack tastes twice as good here. On reaching there, the route returns via the same path to the starting point at Freizeit Arena.
