Description

The challenging bike tour starts at car park P15 near the music pavilion in Weidach (Leutasch). Ample parking spaces and toilet facilities are available on site. The “Weidach Zentrum” bus stop is also located nearby.

From the music pavilion, the route first follows the road towards Oberweidach. Right from the start, the trail offers impressive views of the striking Hohe Munde mountain range. After a short distance, the route turns left, crosses a small bridge and continues left again at the junction near Hotel Kristall towards the valley station of the Katzenkopf cable car.

Passing the valley station, the route continues to the Kreithalm, a cosy mountain hut serving regional specialities and ideal for a break. This is where the climb begins. The trail then steadily ascends through the idyllic Fludertal valley with its peaceful forest sections.

After completing the loop through the Fludertal valley, the route continues to the Katzenkopfhütte mountain hut. A sunny terrace and a cosy lounge invite visitors to relax while enjoying beautiful views over the Leutasch Valley. Those wishing to end the tour here can comfortably return to the valley by chairlift, which also transports bikes (except e-bikes).

Katzenkopf Leutasch also features a bike park with flowy trails, a children’s playground at the top station, a disc golf course and a summer toboggan run leading back down into the valley.

After a relaxing break, the forest road leads back downhill. Passing through the small hamlet of Seewald, the route eventually returns to the starting point in Weidach.

Attention: Grazing livestock – please keep your distance and cross pasture areas calmly and without delay.
