A nice, small enduro route to Zwieselstein with 12 km, 320 meters of altitude, and the tricky black trail through the Kühtrainschlucht returning to Sölden.
The black Kühtrainschlucht trail requires very good riding skills; some will certainly have to dismount now and then. It is also rideable from both sides. So you must expect oncoming traffic (and hikers!).
In the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN, it’s about having fun together with bike sports – regardless of your skill level. Be considerate of each other and support one another. Also, behave respectfully towards all other people on the mountain and in the valley – and nature.
–> Stay on the paved and signposted paths. Do not ride over open meadows!
–> Avoid blocking the rear wheel to help preserve the trails.
–> Be considerate of animals & close the pasture gates. There can always be cows on the trails and lines. Ride carefully and keep your distance!
–> Please note: Hikers are also on the natural trails of the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN. Ride carefully, stop, yield considerately, and greet nicely.
Well equipped rules! We recommend wearing MTB protective gear (helmet, knee, elbow, back protectors, ...) on all lines, trails, enduro routes, and mountain bike routes of the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN. All routes are exclusively for use with mountain bikes that meet today's quality standards.The Enduro Zwieselstein is a nice after-work or in-between route in the BIKE REPUBLIC SÖLDEN. The start and end point of the Enduro Route Zwieselstein E is the Freizeit Arena in the center of Sölden. Facing the Freizeit Arena, start to the right and follow the Ötztal cycle path 11 to the valley station of the Gaislachkogelbahn. At the Gaislachkogelbahn, turn right to reach the federal road B186, follow it to the junction of the glacier road from the federal road. Continue here right up the steep glacier road; after two hairpin turns, leave the glacier road and follow the Infangstraße to the left. Past the Infang, turn left at the next opportunity (red barrier) onto the Obere Gewerbestraße and follow it until you reach the federal road B186. Here, turn right onto the federal road B186 and arrive at Zwieselstein. In Zwieselstein, cross the Ötztaler Ache and turn left at the Hotel Neue Post, following the paved road to the start of the Kühtrainschlucht Trail. It is sensationally beautiful but offers some technically tricky sections (narrow railing corridors, steps, roots). It is also rideable from both sides.
Please watch out for hikers!
Arrival by train
Simply take the train to Ötztal train station at the valley entrance. A public bus departs directly from the station forecourt towards Obergurgl. The bus ride to Sölden takes about 1 - 1.5 hours. On the designated bike buses, bike transport (including eMTBs) is free with a valid bus ticket.

WHERE IS SÖLDEN LOCATED?
Sölden is located in western Austria in the state of TYROL, in a southern side valley of the Inn valley – the ÖTZTAL.
Arrival from the west:
From Vorarlberg to Tyrol via the Arlbergpass or through the Arlberg tunnel (S 16) - Landeck - Motorway A 12 towards Innsbruck - Exit Ötztal after Roppener Tunnel - B 186 (35km) to Sölden
From the north:
- Bad Tölz - Achenpass - B 181 - Jenbach - A 12 Innsbruck towards Bregenz - Exit Ötztal - B 186 (35km) to Sölden
- Pfronten - Reutte - Fernpass - Imst - A 12 towards Innsbruck - Exit Ötztal after Roppener Tunnel or B 171 Tiroler Straße to Ötztal (toll-free) - B 186 (35km) to Sölden
- Garmisch Partenkirchen - Ehrwald - Lermoos - Fernpass - Imst - A 12 towards Innsbruck - Exit Ötztal after Roppener Tunnel or B 171 Tiroler Straße to Ötztal (toll-free) - B 186 (35km) to Sölden
- Garmisch Partenkirchen - Mittenwald - Scharnitz - Seefeld in Tirol - Telfs - A 12 towards Bregenz - Exit Ötztal or B 171 Tiroler Straße to Ötztal (toll-free) - B186 (35km) to Sölden
From the east:
From Munich or Salzburg on the A 93 to Kufstein, then on the A 12 towards Bregenz, via Innsbruck to exit Ötztal, then continue on B 186 (35km) to Sölden
From the south:
Coming from Bolzano towards Brenner (toll road) - Brenner motorway over Schönberg toll station towards Innsbruck - from Innsbruck on A 12 towards Bregenz until entry to Ötztal - continue on B 186 (35km) to Sölden
There are sufficient parking spaces available at the valley stations of the Gaislachkoglbahn and the Giggijochbahn, and there are also parking garages. Parking spaces are subject to fees.
