Whether you are a road cycling beginner or a pro, everyone will enjoy the small training route in the valley basin of Längenfeld combined with the climb to Gries/Winnebach.

It should be noted that there is an increased risk of accidents and injuries in road cycling. Despite careful route planning, there is always a basic risk. Preparation through endurance sports, appropriate training and further education, as well as personal care, reduces the risk of accidents and dangers.
Personal equipment must be safe, functional, and meet the respective technical standards. Every road cyclist is advised to inform themselves about the planned routes through specialized literature or on-site. Complete road cycling equipment is strongly recommended even for experienced riders!
Tip: For the partly sparsely lit tunnels, lighting is advisable.
The road cycling route starts in the flat valley basin over the "Riederseite" through quiet hamlets of Längenfeld. This part is very pleasant to ride because there is little traffic here. Especially in spring, this route is suitable. It is very flat and you can also complete several "training rounds" in the basic endurance area before tackling the ascent to the upper level of Längenfeld, the idyllic village of Gries at 1,600 m, a holiday destination without traffic noise, hustle, and bustle.
The road cycling route along the Fischbach to Gries offers many wonderful moments in the beautiful forest landscape. The ascent begins in Längenfeld and follows the Fischbach further and further to Gries. Numerous switchbacks at the beginning make the ride entertaining so that the 550 meters of elevation quickly pass by. After passing through the village of Gries, you should still have some energy left because the short, steep ramp to Winnebach is often underestimated. The idyllic, dreamy mountain village of Gries is located in the heart of the ÖTZTAL NATURE PARK and is an ideal starting point for exploring the area.
Arrival by train
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. A local bus to Obergurgl departs directly from the station forecourt. The bus ride to Umhausen takes about 30 minutes.

WHERE IS Längenfeld?
Sölden is located in the west of Austria in the federal state of TIROL, in a southern side valley of the Inn Valley – the ÖTZTAL.
Arrival from the west:
from Vorarlberg to Tirol via the Arlbergpass or through the Arlberg tunnel (S 16) - Landeck - motorway A 12 towards Innsbruck - exit Ötztal to Roppener tunnel - B 186 (22km) to Längenfeld.
From the north:
- Bad Tölz - Achenpass - B 181 - Jenbach - A 12 Innsbruck towards Bregenz - exit Ötztal - B 186 (35km) to Sölden
- Pfronten - Reutte - Fernpass - Imst - A 12 towards Innsbruck - exit Ötztal to Roppener tunnel or B 171 Tiroler Straße to Ötztal (toll-free) - B 186 (22km) to Längenfeld.
- Garmisch Partenkirchen - Ehrwald - Lermoos - Fernpass - Imst - A 12 towards Innsbruck - exit Ötztal to Roppener tunnel or B 171 Tiroler Straße to Ötztal (toll-free) - B 186 (22km) to Längenfeld.
- Garmisch Partenkirchen - Mittenwald - Scharnitz - Seefeld in Tirol - Telfs - A 12 towards Bregenz - exit Ötztal or B 171 Tiroler Straße to Ötztal (toll-free) - B 186 (22km) to Längenfeld.
From the east:
from Munich or Salzburg on the A 93 to Kufstein, then on the A 12 towards Bregenz, via Innsbruck to exit Ötztal, then continue on B 186 (22km) to Längenfeld.
From the south:
coming from Bolzano towards Brenner (toll road) - Brenner motorway via toll station Schönberg towards Innsbruck - from Innsbruck on A 12 towards Bregenz to Ötztal approach - continue on B 186 (22km) to Längenfeld.
There are plenty of free parking spaces opposite the tourism information office in Unterlängenfeld.
