Equipment

The road traffic regulations (StVO) apply. Generally valid and usual rules of conduct.

It should be noted that there can be an increased risk of accidents and injuries in road cycling. Despite careful route planning, a basic risk always remains. Route preparation through endurance sports, appropriate training and further education as well as personal caution reduce the risk of accidents and dangers.

Personal equipment must be safe and functional and comply with the respective technical standard. Every road cyclist is advised to inform themselves in specialist literature or locally about the planned routes. Complete road cycling equipment is strongly recommended even for experienced cyclists!

Tip: For the partly poorly lit tunnels, lighting is advisable.

Description

The Ötztal is covered in both directions on this road cycling route. After a fast descent downstream to Sautens follows a short ascent into the core of the village of Sautens. Then a slightly hilly road leads through the Sautener Forchat. The Forchat is a wooded landslide area in the Sautener nature reserve. To this day, this primeval landscape has been hardly altered by humans. A short section on the country road then takes you to the adventure park Area 47 near Haiming, your outdoor arena for adventure, fun and thrills in Tyrol. It never gets boring in Area 47. In the Lakeside Restaurant you sit – as the name suggests – directly by the lake of the Water Area and have everything going on there exactly in view. The restaurant is also open to guests who do not otherwise use the offers of Area 47. Downstream you then work your way up the valley steps from place to place towards Sölden. Although you only overcome just over 600 meters of altitude on the approx. 35 km to Sölden, these are distributed over a few valley steps with clearly noticeable inclines. It is important to pace your strength as the uphill sections between places are often underestimated.
