Take the Hobalm/Vallruckalm hiking taxi to the turnoff at the Geiselalm (reservation required; departure at 9:15 a.m. from Tux-Center). Above the alpine hut, AV Trail No. 315 leads up to the Geiseljoch. The descent follows hiking trails No. 47 and No. 49 toward Hobalm. Then follow the wide, gravel alpine path No. 47 back toward Geiselalm. From Geiselalm, the paved road winds downhill in several switchbacks. After the bridge, ascend to the Geislerhof mountain inn, the only place to stop for refreshments on the tour. Follow AV Trail No. 315, which leads across the Voglaue and through the Pfisterwald further out of the valley. Then follow AV Trail No. 321 to the Rosenkranz Chapel in the hamlet of Gemais. Afterward, Trail No. 21 runs between Haus Sonnrain (No. 241) and the Alpenjuwel Chalets (No. 242) and continues downhill to the valley station of the Eggalmbahn in Tux-Lanersbach.
