Description

This section starts in the centre of Imst and leads over the famous "Bergl", the Imst Calvary, which is embraced by two thundering torrents. The trail leads up a stony and steep ascent past the Stations of the Cross to the Laurentius Church, one of the oldest churches in Tyrol. From here, the trail continues along a forest path to the Wetterkreuz. The impressive view of the Gurgltal valley and the Tschirgant mountain opposite invites you to take a break. Follow the forest path until you cross the Hahntennjochstraße. Now you reach a peaceful lake, the Starkenberger See. Pass the lake and continue through the chestnut-lined avenue to Starkenberg Castle. There, follow the asphalt path to today's destination, the Tarrenz parish church.
