Summit tour: Karkopf
Starting from the Neue Alplhütte (1,504 m), a well-marked path leads steadily uphill towards the Wetterkreuz (1,920 m). After reaching the summit cross, you can already enjoy an impressive view of the surrounding mountains.
From here, follow the signposted mountain path eastwards towards Karkopf. The path now becomes more alpine: the climb leads through rocky terrain and becomes increasingly steeper. The last few metres before the summit are secured with a steel cable to make the ascent easier. Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required for this tour!
Once at the top, the Karkopfs (2,469 m) rewards you with a breathtaking panoramic view of Mieming and the Inntal valley.
The descent follows the same route back to the Neue Alplhütte, where a well-earned refreshment stop with homemade specialities awaits hikers. This demanding mountain tour combines alpine challenges with magnificent summit moments!
