A varied hike along the Wegscheidbach circuit with relaxation areas and play stations, combined with a nature adventure in the Rehbachklamm gorge.
The hike starts at the church in the centre of Scheffau. From there, follow the road downhill in a southerly direction. Shortly before the fire station, the path branches off into the forest on the left. The forest trail follows the stream and passes rest areas, play stations, the open-air inhalation facility (graduation tower), as well as the remains of an old lime kiln.
The path then climbs gently and leads along the edge of the Oberfeld district back towards the village centre. Between Gasthof Weberbauer and the former Gasthof Maikircher, turn right and follow the pavement along Hintersteiner See Straße, following the signs for "Rehbachklamm" gorge.
In the Bruggenmoos district, just before the bridge, turn right by the large sculpture onto trail no. 42 into Rehbach Gorge. The romantic path follows the stream over bridges and walkways. After climbing a series of steps, you reach the final bridge. Turn left there and follow the forest road towards Hinterschießlingalm.
After the small car park, you reach the entrance to the upper section of the gorge. Stairs and bridges lead past an illuminated and accessible mining tunnel dating from the 16th century.
After leaving the gorge, turn right and follow forest road no. 41 back through the Leiten district and on to the village centre. To finish, a water treading pool and arm bath on the south side of the municipal office invite you to relax and cool off.
