Description

The wheelchair-friendly trail takes you once around the Weidachsee in Leutasch. Covering 3 kilometers, the route leads from the center of Weidach to the scenic lakeside loop. The path is classified as easy, except for one short, challenging section. It is mostly flat and wide, with only one incline that is rated as “black” in difficulty. Alternatively, the route can be done in a “U-shape” to avoid this section.

Your walk starts directly at the music pavilion in Leutasch. You can park right in front at car park P15 or get off at the bus stop Weidach Zentrum. Directly opposite the stop, take the street to the left past the Hotel zum See, then immediately turn right past the music pavilion. Follow this road until you reach a choice between a gravel and an asphalt path. Both will bring you to a sidewalk, where you turn left and continue until you reach Hotel Quellenhof.

At the bus stop, take the path branching off to the left, which leads you straight to the lake. From the Forellenhof, follow the path to the right along the lake into the forest, and continue alongside the water until you reach the southwestern end of the lake. Here lies the short, difficult section, which can be managed with a companion or an electric traction device. A double left turn follows, leading you back in the opposite direction. Continue until you reach the Forellenhof again, from where you can return along the same route. Before heading back, you can enjoy refreshments at the fish smokehouse & café or even try your hand at fishing.
