Description

First you walk along a wide, almost level gravel road until after about 20 minutes a wooden panel with the inscription "Ferdinand-Kogler-Steig" hangs between the trees on the left. You will pass the Stupbach spring with a remarkably well-equipped rest area for hikers (see also "Note"). Behind it it goes steeper up a slope and one walks past a signposted turnoff from which the ascent to Hochnissl is possible. In the following one passes another ditch, through which the water splashes, passes a feeding place for game at the Melansalm and finally one stands at a small waterfall in the Nasstal. A first rope insured site leads here. The path then continues up and down through a lonely and wild landscape. Sometimes the sound of the Vomperbach can be heard from the gorge. After 2 ½ hours you reach the Zwerchloch with an old hunting lodge. The wooden table on the veranda and the bridge further down by the Zwerchbach are ideal for a snack.
