Hut Badener Hütte

The Badener Hütte (2,608 metres) is an alpine hut run by the Austrian Alpine Club. It is located in the east of the Venediger Massif in the Hohe Tauern National Park in East Tirol.

Description

Pleasant mountain refuge on the Venice High Trail

The Badener Hütte is an alpine refuge offering its visitors fabulous views of some of the highest mountains in Austria. The sunny terrace overlooks the Venediger Massif and is the perfect place to relax after a challenging hike in the surrounding mountains. However, much of the walking around the hut is challenging, so visitors will need to have good overall fitness. Accommodation is available in beds and a dormitory with matresses on the floor. The hut is open from early July until mid-September. Walkers and hikers taking on the Venice High Trail can stop here for the night. Well known surrounding mountains: Kristallwand, Großvenediger, Wildenkogel.

The Badener Hütte is located on the Venice High Trail. It is the finishing point for Stage 4 and the starting point for Stage 5 of the East Tirol Eagle Walk, a  long-distance walking trail. Some stages cross glaciers and are therefore only suitable for those with alpine experience.
