The Haus der Freundschaft is a modern accommodation above Innsbruck offering an excellent base camp for school classes and other groups keen to experience both the flair of the city and the beauty of the mountains. It is surrounded by forests and meadows where youngsters can play, explore, enjoy a barbeque or make a camp fire. The Haus der Freundschaft is aimed primarily at groups of young people, which means either having the place to yourselves or sharing it with people of a similar age. There is one large and one small room suitable for group activities and meetings.
Accommodation is available for up to 36 guests in two-bed and four-bed rooms. Each room has its own shower and toilet. Various board options are available, all the way up to full board with a packed lunch provided each day. Groups are also welcome to cook for themselves if they wish to. The large recreation room has a kitchen and a dining area as well as plenty of space for fun and games. Wireless internet is available free of charge throughout the building.
The surrounding area offers plenty of options when it comes to days out, activities and trips into nature. The Nordkette Mountains above Innsbruck are full of hiking and mountain biking trails, many of which lead past huts serving food and drink. There is also the Alpine Zoo, a selection of indoor and outdoor swimming pools, plus several state-of-the-art indoor climbing centres. It doesn't take long to reach the historic city centre of Innsbruck with its museums, restaurants and shops.
