Family ski holidays in Kitzbühel Alps - Pillerseetal Valley

During the winter months the ski area in the Pillerseetal Valley is particularly interesting for parents with older children. The resort offers lots of funparks and other cool features and also gives skiers and boarders access to one of Austria's largest interconnected piste networks.

There is no region in Tirol which gets as much snow as the Pillerseetal Valley – and that's official! Little wonder that this region in the east of Tirol is popular with families. The three local ski resorts Fieberbrunn, Pillersee/Buchensteinwand and Steinplatte Waidring are excellent for teenagers looking for a little freestyle action. Children of all ages as well as their parents will enjoy Timoks Coaster in Fieberbrunn and the Triassic Kinderland in Waidring.

Sometimes it is good to take a break from the slopes and try out something different like a visit to the Energiebrunnen spa in Fieberbrunn, the Alpensportbad in St. Ulrich or the Schlauchbobbahn in Waidring. The region's biggest attraction, quite literally, is the huge Jakobskreuz cross on top of the Buchensteinwand mountain, which visitors can climb up.

Special family deals. All three resorts have discounts for children and child-friendly prices.

Children's Ski Schools. The Pillerseetal has not one, not two, not three but four family-friendly ski schools. The S4 snowsport in Fieberbrunn offers a wide range of lessons for all ages and abilities, including freestyle courses for youngsters. One of the oldest snowsports schools in Tirol is Sport Widmann in Fieberbrunn, which over the years has gained a reputation for combining innovation and tradition.
