A visit to the Achental Local Heritage Museum, which was lovingly restored in 1984, calls to mind the Tirolean rural life of yesteryear. Take a walk into time long past… The house, a typical Tirolean “Einhof” farmstead in Achenkirch, offers visitors glimpses of life as it was lived through six centuries. Personal and domestic belongings — furniture, kitchen ware, clothing and textiles, agricultural implements and artefacts relating to hunting, fishing, timber industry, firefighting and Achensee Lake shipping are on view in 21 rooms spread over three storeys.
