The most intense and exciting freeride venues in Austria highlight the Open Faces Freeride Tour’s line-up for 2024. With four stops from January through April, Open Faces sets the standard for freeriding events, as the best skiers and snowboarders compete against themselves and the mountain. Three Tirol venues will play a key role in the tour, with Kappl as the first tour stop, Alpbachtal Valley and Kaunertal Glacier, which play host to two more stops. Kappl in Paznaun Valley features a difficult and complex venue that will challenge the athletes within a 2* Qualifier along with a 2* Junior Contest on one of the crown jewels of Tirolean freeride terrain, Quellspitze.
And this year even gets better: From January 21 to 26, 2024, Kappl will play host to the Freeride Junior World Championships. Coming from more than 15 countries, the world’s best upcoming athletes will compete for their chance at glory. Spectators near and far are invited to the base of Ablittkopfbahn Gondola to enjoy prime viewing and great performances.
