Tirol’s tallest waterfall, Stuibenfall near Umhausen in Ötztal Valley, gave this event the name. If you’re looking for a race to make your legs come alive, the 5th Stuiben Trail Run is the one for you.
The Stuiben Trail Run offers five race distance options backdropped against the stunning views and gorgeous scenery of Central Ötztal Valley. Whichever distance you choose, all runners have to tackle the 728 steps past Tirol’s tallest waterfall. View the rushing waters cascading 159 meters over cliffs, weather-scarred rocks and moss-covered boulders in a foaming, spewing onrush of unrestrained energy. The longest race, the 42K Stuiben Trail (44.1K; 3,100 meters of climbing), takes runners from Umhausen along the waterfall and up to Narrenkogel, into Horlachtal Valley, across Grastal Valley and back down to Längenfeld. Racers can choose between this and two shorter trail races: a 12K and a 24K. Little ones can join the Widi Trail Run. All races take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023. One day earlier, avid runners can opt for the 4K Stuiben Sprint that climbs for 450 meters. The Stuiben Trail Run is a favorite among international elite athletes.
