The Tirol Easter Festival is a showcase of different cultures, religions, traditions and art forms. This year’s festival has been postponed to June and revolves around the theme of “pending”.
The Tirol Easter Festival is among the most prestigious of its kind in the German-speaking world. Postponed from March to June, the two-week Festival offers mental and spiritual food during the fasting period and brings together a wide range of musicians from all over the world to celebrate Easter traditions of local ethnic and cultural origins. It’s a two-week meeting of cultures, spirituality and social commitment. The Festival includes passion music, Early and New Music, along with dance, theatre and performances from different countries and traditions. French dance Compagnie Käfig, headed by Mourad Merzouki, will present their award-winning choreography “Vertical” and choreographer Pia Meuthen will perform “The Future is not what it used to be” at Dogana Innsbruck.
Apart from dance, the Festival Program will include concerts and readings. Undisputed highlights will be the performance by pianist Igor Levit, who will play Dmitri Schostakowitsch at Salzlager Hall and Collegium Vocale Gent who will present Monteverdi unter the direction of Philippe Herreweghe.
The Festival is staged at different venues in Innsbruck and Hall in Tirol between June 09 and 25, 2021. For program details, please refer here.
