From downhill experts to cross-country specialists, five judges from the MTB scene have picked their favourite trails from the more than 80 sections of singletrack in Tirol. All the judges have also selected their personal number one out of these five Great Trails.


In 2009 Lisi Osl won the overall classification of the UCI Mountainbike World Cup. Born and raised in Kirchberg, Lisi today still lives in this pretty village in the east of Tirol and even has a singletrack trail named after her in the nearby Kitzbühel Alps. She continues to race in the XC World Cup.

In 2007 Lisi Hager became the Mountainbike 24 Hour World Champion. Her passion for long-distance races has taken her to Australia and South Africa as well as across the Alps. Today she works as a cycling journalist and is always up-to-date on all the latest developments in the biking scene.

Anyone who has won the infamous downhill race on the Nordkette trail definitely knows a thing or two about getting from A to B as quickly as possible. Benedikt Purner is a well-known face in the Tirolean downhill scene and has built several of his own trails using the skills he acquired studying geology at university.

There are plenty of trained mountainbike guides, but only one is officially responsible for singletrack trails at the Tirolean Regional Government: Lars Lotze. His job also includes inspecting and signposting mountainbike routes and singletrack trails throughout the region.

As a racer Sebastian Rech took part in the IXS European Downhill Cup and the legendary Crankworx. Though he still races, he also enjoys exploring the singletrack trails around Innsbruck on his enduro bike. In 2016 he opened the "Velo Love" bike shop in Innsbruck.
