Description:
Enjoy the different landscapes of the Allgäu. The scenic western Allgäu, cross the Iller valley and conquer the old Joch pass near Bad Hindelang. At Oberjoch, the main route splits into a northern and a southern variant.
The southern main route leads us eastward from Oberjoch. After a few kilometers, we cross the border into Austria and reach the tranquil Tannheimer Tal with its small villages. The high valley lies at about 1,100 m and is idyllically framed by some striking mountains such as Gaishorn, Aggenstein, or Gimpel. In the middle of the valley is the well-known Vilsalpsee. Via the Meraner Steig and the old Gaicht Pass, we reach the Lech valley. The Lech is considered one of the last wild rivers of Central Europe here. Unmistakable and breathtaking is the so-called Lechzopf, where the river branches into several parallel arms. From Weißenbach, we ride along the Lech to our destination Elmen.
