Description

The Riparian Forest Trail begins at the parking lot of the Treetop Trail or the Forest Experience Center in Pinswang and leads deep into the riparian forest via an accessible travel path. It stands out for its excellent accessibility and close connection to nature.

Visitors can marvel at the turquoise-green color of the Lech River, discover rare animals and plants, and experience the power of water up close. Along the trail, puzzles invite visitors to explore the region’s ecological features in a playful way.

As an alternative to the step-free gravel path, visitors can also access the trail from the exhibition building on the Füssen side via a long slide that leads directly into the forest. Two playgrounds with creative wooden structures and climbing elements offer opportunities for balancing and running around. Crossing old branches of the Lech River via bridges and rafts, as well as sandy and loamy ground perfect for walking barefoot, make the trail an immersive nature experience.

An optional detour leads to the famous Lech Falls, which are just a few minutes’ walk away. In addition, the accessible treetop trail high above the path offers unique views of the forest landscape.

The Auwaldpfad invites you to enjoy an impressive nature experience and is an attractive Finishing Point for anyone who wants to explore the beauty and secrets of this unique habitat.
