Suitable equipment is also available in the bike stores in the region.
For the hike: Sturdy hiking shoes, functional clothing, a backpack, water, snacks, alpine experience, and sure-footedness are necessary for this tour! Also recommended: a hiking map or GPS, a first aid kit, sun protection, hiking poles, and an emergency blanket.
Challenging summit tour; to save time, it is recommended to ride by bike until just before the Möslalm.
From the Naturpark-Infozentrum Scharnitz, follow the Hinterautalstraße to the Gleirschhöhe. There, take the turn-off to the right into the Gleirschtal. Initially, the road leads downwards before going steeply uphill for a good stretch over the so-called "Krapfen". Continue several kilometers further into the valley until the Möslalm junction. Shortly before the Möslalm, turn left and follow the forest path until the signpost for Hoher Gleirsch. Park the bike here and follow the narrow path. From here, proceed on foot through forest, mountain pines, and over scree-filled terrain to the summit. Return via the same route.
Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required!

By train to Scharnitz train station, then approx. 3 minutes by bike to the starting point at the Nature Park Information Center.

Guest Card = Travel Card: The guest card is valid during your stay as a ticket for all public bus connections in the region (up to Telfs and Mittenwald). In addition, the train ride between Seefeld and Scharnitz and the Wildmoosbus are also included. However, a separate ticket for bicycle transportation on the train must be purchased at the ticket counter of the Seefeld information & mobility center or online.
From Innsbruck, take the A12 Inntalautobahn to the Seefeld/Garmisch exit, then continue over the Zirlerberg to Scharnitz. From Landeck/Reschen, take the A12 to the Telfs Ost exit, then drive through Mösern and Seefeld to Scharnitz. From Garmisch, pass through Mittenwald on the way to Scharnitz.
In Scharnitz, turn at the intersection to the Maria Hilf Parish Church and continue straight to the Nature Park Information Center Scharnitz. Park at the P2 'Karwendelparkplatz Länd' parking lot (or at other parking lots nearby - see “Parking”).

Cyclists can also use the following parking lots: P1 (Riedboden) coming from Munich and P4 (Mühlberg) coming from Innsbruck.
From these parking lots you can reach the starting point at the Scharnitz Nature Park Information Center by bike in about 5 minutes.
