Circular hike from the Lech River to Burgenwelt Ehrenberg Castle World with impressive views and fascinating insights into the region’s history.
At the Lech footbridge, leave the Lechweg River Trail. Continue for a short distance along the hiking and cycling path until you reach a small underpass on the right. The trail then follows Schulweg through the village of Ehenbichl. Turn right onto Kirchweg, then continue along the adjoining field path uphill to the edge of the forest. A narrow trail leads through the deciduous forest uphill to Schlossanger, where you can visit Ehrenberg Castle Ruins and the highline179 suspension bridge. The hike continues uphill to Schlosskopf, from where the trail descends to Ehrenberger Klause. Here, you will find a museum and the Salzstadl restaurant. The trail then leads downhill past Katzenmühle and along Sintwag, before returning to the hiking and cycling path along the banks of the Lech and back to the Lech footbridge.
Take regional bus line 2, 110 or 120 to the “Ehenbichl Unterried” stop. There
