Description

The hike starts at the Lucknerhof Inn in Unterschwendt. We hike along a well-maintained trail beside the stream until we reach the first sign for the “Alter Lackweg.” You can either stay on the alpine road—or take the shorter, more scenic route along the “Alter Lackweg” through a beautiful beech forest until just before the Lackalm, where you rejoin the forest road. At the next fork in the trail, turn right. You’ll soon reach the Lackalm, which is open in the summer. From here, continue via the Obere Schnappenalm to the Schnappenkreuz. The trail then descends gently to the Schnappenstein with its summit chapel.
