Meadow, forest, and dirt roads
From Walchsee / Durchholzen, follow the Achentaler Bach stream past Kotlacken and Großpointeralm to the first trail junction. Here, we turn left, pass the Winkelalm, and ascend into the Winkelkar up to the rocks. This is where the via ferrata—partially secured with wire ropes (B and 1-)—begins, leading us first northeast toward the ridge and then south across a rock slab secured with iron clamps to the panoramic summit of the Pyramidenspitze (summit cross and summit logbook). The descent leads across mountain pine fields to the Petersköpfl and the Vorderkaiserfeldenhütte. From the hut, take the Musikantensteig trail to the Gasthof Köllnberg and continue on to the Aschingeralm. Just before the Aschingeralm, head to the middle station of the Zahmer Kaiser lift and follow the forest road back to the starting point.
