Description
SINNREICH – an experience for all the senses
SINNREICH is the next step in the development of the educational trail for blind and visually impaired people, created by the City of Innsbruck in 2007 as a European pioneer. Like the original trail, SINNREICH was developed in collaboration with the Tyrolean Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (BSVT).
And SINNREICH continues to evolve: new features, information and experiences will be added every year.
How accessible is SINNREICH?
The paths are wheelchair accessible and suitable for pushchairs. Natural and specially designed guiding features lead visitors to information boards, artworks, raised garden beds and other interactive stations.
The information boards include a variety of tactile elements, from Braille lettering to raised outlines of leaves. The panels are designed with sufficient space underneath for wheelchair users, allowing everyone to reach and explore the tactile features.
Discover with all your senses
SINNREICH engages all the senses:
Touch:Raised outlines, Braille lettering, Kneipp facilities and trees invite visitors to explore through touch.
Smell and taste:The herb garden offers fresh fragrances and intense flavours.
Sight:Information boards, children's cartoons and the natural surroundings provide plenty to discover, while also offering a peaceful place to relax.
Hearing:All information about SINNREICH can be read aloud via the City of Innsbruck's website. An art installation also brings the sounds of Innsbruck's natural springs to life.
