There are many little pilgrimage churches and St. Magdalenas, but this centuries-old, mysterious place of power is, how shall we put it, almost unbelievably beautiful.
Partly steeply ascending hiking trail through forest to a centuries-old, mysterious place of power, impressively situated amidst rocks on a flat meadow shoulder. The destination is scenically charming and the small church with its catered snack station makes it a particularly atmospheric place to stop and take a break. As a sporty alternative, the ascent can also be made via a moderately difficult via ferrata (B/C) and there is also a climbing garden above the snack station.
From the bus stop "Erhartlerhof" or at the car park for the fixed rope route, cross a bridge and follow the signs (trail no. 52) through the forest, quite steeply uphill. After about an hour, you reach the pilgrimage church with the catered snack station, which is nestled in the rocks on a flat meadow shoulder.
Above the snack station is a climbing garden, to the entrance it is about 5 min. descent as ascent. Alternative: Ascent via the via ferrata (B/C, medium difficulty) possible.
Take the regional bus 4146 in the direction of "Gschnitz" from Steinach a. Br. station to "Trins Erhertlerhof" [exact timetables can be found at www.vvt.at]. Free use of the bus with the Wipptal Guest Card!
