Description

Start your barrier-free hike at the car park at the forest adventure centre in Pinswang and follow the well-maintained path that leads you along the picturesque treetop path and the alluvial forest trail. After just a few hundred metres, you will reach the Bavarian border and soon afterwards the impressive Lech Falls in Füssen. In total, you have only covered around one kilometre to get here.

From the barrier-free viewing platform, you can watch as the Lech plunges over a historic barrage into a narrow gorge - a natural spectacle that unfolds its full force especially in the early summer months after the snow melts. Informative elements explain the origins and historical significance of this place.

If you want to be even closer to the action, you can take the steps down to the Maxsteg, which leads to the other side of the river. From here, you can marvel even more at the impressive natural scenery and the historic high water marks. Please note: the bridge is not accessible for people with reduced mobility; only the viewing platform is accessible.

The Lech Falls attract well over 100,000 visitors every year, making it one of the most visited sights in Füssen. Enjoy this short but impressive excursion that brings natural history and cultural heritage to life.
