Description

At the Waltl parking lot, Naringbergstraße branches off to the north. Follow it for just under half an hour until, well above a left-hand curve, a wide forest trail branches off to the right toward the Hinhagalm.

There, the route forks; take the right fork up through mountain pastures to the weather vane. Heading west—pay close attention to the trail markers—you’ll hike on flat ground at first, then continue with a short ascent, before a brief descent takes you down the south side of the Rudersburg. The trail climbs steeply at first and then levels off somewhat as it winds through the forest until reaching the slightly more challenging rock sections near the summit, where you’ll need to use your hands here and there. Note: this section is the Schwarzer Bergweg! At the highest point, marked by the summit cross, you’ll be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view. On the descent, take the fork toward the Naringalm (a mountain hut) to return to the starting point.
