Mountain Biking in the Imst Region

Lush meadows, wooden huts, thick forests, rushing streams and crystal-clear mountain lakes – mountain biking around Imst is a fantastic experience. Some of the best riding can be found in the Lechtal Alps, the Mieming Mountains and the Ötztal Alps.

The Imst region is a haven for keen mountain bikers, with most of the trails rated intermediate. We recommend riding from Imst to one of the many huts in the mountains serving food and drink, for example the Latschenhütte at the foot of the Vordere Plateinspitze peak or the somewhat easier-to-reach Karröster Alm on the western slopes of the Tschirgant mountain. Advanced and expert riders with good stamina can climb all the way up to the Venetalm in the Ötztal Alps, where at 2,000 metres above sea level fabulous views await of the Upper Inn Valley, the Gurgltal Valley and the Pitztal Valley. There are plenty of trails leading around the nearby Mieming Mountains, while the Pitztal Valley can also be easily explored on two wheels. Several stages of the Bike Trail Tirol lead through the region. On hot summer days you can cool off with a dip in the Fernsteinsee lake or the neighbouring Blindsee lake, both of which can be accessed via the circular ride from Nassereith to the Marienbergjoch ridge.
