Mountain Biking in the Kufstein Region

The Kufstein region is just a stone's throw from the German border and home to numerous lakes large and small. Some of the best mountain biking can be found in the Brandenberg Alps and the Kaiser Mountains, with trails catering for everyone from beginners to experts.

The Kufstein region lies between the alpine foothills of Bavaria, the Chiemgau Alps, the Brandenberg Alps and the Kaiser Mountains. Some of the best riding can be found in the north of the region and in the Inn Valley, where families and e-bike riders will find plenty to keep them busy. One of the most popular rides begins in Ebbs and leads along a series of tarmac and gravel trails to the Aschinger Alm, a mountain hut where cheese is made. The area around Kufstein is also famous for its lakes. West of Kufstein you will find the Thiersee lake, part of stage 9 of the Bike Trail Tirol. This ride connects Kufstein to the idyllic Kaiserklamm gorge in the Brandenberger Tal Valley. Easy rides include the loop around the Kaiser Mountains, while the ride up onto the Brentenjoch mountain above the town of Kufstein requires a little more pedal power. The reward for all that hard work is a fabulous view of the Wilder Kaiser and Zahmer Kaiser Mountains.
