Hiking in Kufstein Region

With the Brandenberg Alps and their numerous mountain lakes to the west and Kaiser Mountains with their protected nature reserve to the east, the Kufstein Region is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Above the town of Kufstein, at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser Mountains, the Stadtberg mountain can be easily accessed using the Kaiserlift. Up at the top, visitors can look forward to a wide range of paths and trails. One of the most well-known is the third stage of the Eagle Walk from Brentenjoch at the top of the Kaiserlift down to the shimmering green Hintersteiner See lake. Families will enjoy climbing the 1,449-metre-high Gamskogel. South-west of Kufstein is the Pendling, one of the main mountains in the Brandenberg Alps. It can be climbed from Thiersee and offers fine views of the Inn Valley. Another recommendation for families is the 12km circular walk taking in the Pfrillsee, Längsee, Hechtsee and Egelsee lakes. Nature lovers should pay a visit to the protected nature reserve around the Kaisertal Valley. The Kaiser Mountains east of Kufstein are a wonderful sight in autumn with their golden brown forests, diverse flora and fauna and craggy limestone peaks.
