Snowshoeing and Winter Hiking in Kufstein

Kufstein has everything you need for your own personal winter fairytale: a medieval castle, mighty mountains, snowy forests and plenty of great winter hiking trails.

Get out and explore the landscape on foot before settling down in front of a crackling fire for a hearty meal in one of the region’s many huts. Other alternative activities in winter include ice skating on one of the artificial ice rinks or, if you are lucky, on the frozen Hechtsee and Thiersee lakes. Families will enjoy the toboggan runs, some of which are floodlit. We recommend the run at the Kala-Alm hut near Pendling.

Tip! The sight of the full moon lighting up the snow-covered landscape and slowly giving way to the sun as dawn approaches is a unique experience which visitors should not miss out on. Early-morning guided hikes are offered in the Kaisertal Valley in the Kufstein region, starting in the valley and leading up to the Ritzaualm hut in time to settle down for a hearty breakfast and see the sun slowly rise over the Wilder Kaiser Mountains.

Offer is available on demand.

Hikes are free of charge for holders of the Kufsteinerland Card. Snowspikes can be hired for €3. Breakfast must be paid for separately. Limited number of participants. Information and registration: Kufsteinerland tourism board, +43.5372.62207, info@kufstein.com, www.kufstein.com
