The Banff Mountain Festival World Tour brings the best films from the world’s most prestigious mountain film festival to audiences around the globe, with stops in Innsbruck and Wörgl.
The world’s most prestigious mountain film festival is coming to to Wörgl’s Climbing Gym on April 25, 2020 and to Innsbruck’s Metropol Cinema on May 03, 2020 with a brand new selection of ten extraordinary short films from the world’s leading adventure filmmakers. Through the big screen, follow the expeditions of some of today’s most incredible adventurers, such as record-breaking Canadian mountain endurance athlete and skier Greg Hill who set out to climb 600,000 vertical meters in one year; French whitewater kayaker Nouria Newman who ventured on a solo kayaking trip down three major rivers in the Himalayas in the North of India; and Scottish trials rider and mountain biker Danny MacAskill, whose latest installation is all themed around a children’s bike trailer, which is used for some his of his regular physics-defying skill on the bike.
Screenings start at 8:00 pm and typically any given program will last about three hours. The Banff Mountain Film Festival is the most prestigious international film competition and an annual presentation of short outdoor films and documentaries. The “mothership” festival has been held at the start of November each year since 1975 in Banff, Canada. The festival draws some of the world’s best filmmakers and accomplished outdoor heroes to celebrate adventure, the environment, mountain culture and the outdoors through film.
