The Banff Mountain Festival World Tour brings the best films from the world’s most prestigious mountain film festival to audiences around the globe, with stops in Innsbruck and Wörgl.
The world’s most prestigious mountain film festival is coming to Innsbruck’s Metropol Cinema on April 22, 2022, and to Wörgl’s Climbing Gym on April 24, 2022, with a brand new selection of extraordinary short films from the world’s leading adventure filmmakers. Through the big screen, follow the expeditions of some of today’s most incredible adventurers, such as French climber Mélissa Le Nevé who attempts the world's legendary first 9a. Can she become the first woman to conquer the 'Action Directe'? Or learn about three freeriders who take an unusual ascent route and embark on a caving expedition during a ski tour in Slovenia. Or watch how Alastair Humphreys busks his way across Spain without money or credit card —a risky endeavor when his violin playing is that of an absolute beginner.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival is the most prestigious international film competition and an annual presentation of short outdoor films and documentaries. The “mothership” festival has been held at the start of November each year since 1975 in Banff, Canada. The festival draws some of the world’s best filmmakers and accomplished outdoor heroes to celebrate adventure, the environment, mountain culture and the outdoors through film.
