Get A Head Start On Skiing

If your skis are already tuned and you are stomping around the house in your ski boots and salopettes, the wait for the traditional December start of ski season can seem interminable. Fortunately, there are a number of ski resorts that crank up their lifts early, allowing you to scratch that wintertide itch long before. Check out Tirol’s favorite resorts for early-season skiing and riding in the winter of 2018-2019.

Whether you’re looking for that last final hoorah before the leaves begin to fall, or to get a head start on ski season, Tirol’s glacier ski resorts offer incredible ski conditions with soft snow and blue skies! When it comes to early season skiing in Tirol, there are essentially five reliable options: Kaunertal, Pitztal, Sölden and Stubai open the new season in September. Hintertux Glacier even offers glacier skiing throughout the heart of the summer. Some lifts at the Kitzbühel Ski Resort will resume operation as early as October 13, 2018. The vast resort of Obergurgl-Hochgurgl opens for ski season on November 15, 2018. Ischgl will open to an enthusiastic crowd of dedicated followers on November 22, 2018. Have you found your happy place?

Head out to the slopes before the season has really kicked off with early season skiing and riding at these ski resorts in Tirol. Planned opening days may vary (as of September 20, 2018).
