This route climbs mostly through woodland to the Zöhreralm (1,334m), with magnificent views of the valley. It's shady in the morning and gets sunnier later in the day.
The tour begins at the Sonnberg car park in Achenkirch. From there, pass the biomass cogeneration plant on your left, then follow the forest road towards the Zöhreralm. The well-surfaced track climbs steadily through woodland, offering frequent views over the valley and, towards the end, extending to Lake Achensee. Much of the route is shaded in the morning, becoming sunnier and warmer as the day progresses. After approximately 4km, you'll reach the Zöhreralm, where refreshments are available.
