A gently ascending forest road leads through uninterrupted woodland to the Adlerhorst hut (1,230m), nestled at the foot of the Unnutz mountain massif.
The tour begins at the Sonnberg car park in Achenkirch, adjacent to the biomass cogeneration plant. From here, the route climbs steadily along a forest road through woodland. While much of the route is shaded in the morning, it becomes sunnier and warmer as the day progresses. Enjoy frequent views over the valley, and after seven switchbacks, you'll reach the Adlerhorst hut. A nearby vantage point offers an unobstructed view of Lake Achensee. Information about the hut's opening times is available on a sign in the valley.
Note: The distances given indicate the length of the one-way route, as shown on the map and in the elevation profile.
