The Friedrichshafener Hütte in Verwall proves that even huts at over 2,000 meters above sea level can be suitable for children. The approach leads up a forest path and later across colorful alpine meadows. The hut is also located by a small lake, which is perfect for relaxing.
The Friedrichshafener Hütte at 2,138 meters above sea level on the Muttenalp not only impresses with its fantastic panorama, but also with its varied ascent, which leads from the hamlet of Valzur in the rear Paznaun valley, first through the forest and later across colourful alpine meadows. You cross a forest road several times along the way, which can also be used to reach the hut by (e-)bike. An overnight stay at the hut in one of the cozy 4-person family rooms is a very special highlight for children.
As described in tour G.3, you reach the Sonnenkogel, where you have a spectacular view of Galtür's local mountains Gorfen- & Ballunspitze and as far as the Jamtal. Follow the signpost "1.000 Höhenmeterweg - Friedrichshafener Hütte", which leads you through the avalanche barriers before you reach the Friedrichshafener Hütte on the road. Way back: (same way back) or via the road to the parking lot of the Friedrichshafener Hütte.
With the train station in Landeck, Paznaun is perfectly connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, you are only a short bus ride away from Paznaun. Bus 260 runs every half hour from there through the valley. Bus stop: Galtür village square
