Equipment

Good equipment is essential for your hike. The following items should definitely be in your rucksack: - Food and drink - Functional clothing for rain, wind and cold - A change of clothes - Sun protection - First aid kit - Mobile phone with a full battery (Euro emergency number 112) - Hiking map or GPS - Hiking poles Nevertheless, the following applies: light luggage is also easier to carry, so you should not weigh down your rucksack with unnecessary ballast. In addition, your hiking equipment should of course also be adapted to your particular hiking tour.

Description

In Häselgehr, follow the signs for "Haglertal/Bretterspitze/Kaufbeurer Hütte" (AV-Weg 434). Via a road you join a footpath. After this junction, stay right on trail 434 (do not go straight ahead into the forest). Through initially dense, then increasingly sparse mountain forest, you walk uphill first to the northeast, then to the northwest at a pleasant gradient. From a hunting lodge, leave the forest behind you and climb up the beautiful Haglertal to the west to the Luxnacher Sattel, ignoring two turn-offs to the right to the Bretterspitze on the way there.
From the Luxnacher Sattel, continue on the so-called Enzensberger Weg (No. 435), which initially crosses the wide Noppenkar to the west in a wide arc, always at about the same altitude, and finally leads more steeply up to the Balschte Sattel (here an optional summit option to the left to the Rotwand; only an additional 40 m ascent).
Behind the saddle, you now continue in a huge arc and at around the same altitude through the Balschtekar to the opposite ledge south below the Wolfebnerspitze, crossing several erosion gullies, especially on the second half. Finally, you descend slightly from the ledge to the superbly situated Hermann von Barth Hütte.
